Shipyard Slob has been building the hulls of medium-sized and large, complex superyachts for decades. At our professional shipyard location, high-quality hulls are built with enormous passion in close cooperation with the client. Shipyard Slob is a 100% subsidiary of Royal de Vries Shipbuilding and, in addition to hulls for third parties, builds all hulls of De Vries’ Feadship superyachts.
Shipyard Slob supplies high-quality, ‘hot-work-free’ hulls including the installation of large components, so that yards of Feadship can start their work immediately. Thanks to its extensive experience and craftsmanship, our yard guarantees high quality and efficiency.

Based on this information, Work Preparation creates the work packages for both the steel hull and the aluminum superstructure of the hull, including the installation of outfit, large components and piping.
In Papendrecht, we have a number of large production halls, where the ship sections (parts of the hull) are produced and built into a high-quality, high-quality and complete steel hull.
In two large separate production halls, the aluminium sections are assembled into a complete, high-quality aluminium superstructure, which is then placed on the steel hull.
Shipyard Slob has its own piping assembly department, which assembles all the 'hard' and 'soft' piping in the ship hulls according to the highest quality standards.
The large components in the superyacht have to be placed during hull construction, because they are too large to place after delivery of the hull. These large components such as engines, gearboxes, generators, switchboards and others are built in by Shipyard Slob itself. In addition, the installation department places the 'hot work outfit' (welded) in the shell.
Project 1012 is the first Feadship yacht to feature a full Hybrid Electric Class notation and was built for a returning Feadship owner who came up with well-thought-out wishes, drawing on his extensive experience in the yachting world. The exterior design was created with very specific input from the owner and has a modern-classic look.
A striking mast and its own submarine were just two of the specific wishes of an owner with vast experience in discovering the world by sea. As with any truly bespoke superyacht, Shinkai's design revolved around the best way to integrate a 7.2-tonne submarine on the aft deck, along with the giant crane required for launching and retrieval.
At launch, Launchpad was by far the largest yacht Feadship had ever built – a title it would retain until 2024.
