About this project
A striking mast and its own submarine were just two of the specific wishes of an owner with vast experience in discovering the world by sea. As with any truly bespoke superyacht, Shinkai’s design revolved around the best way to integrate a 7.2-tonne submarine on the aft deck, along with the giant crane required for launching and retrieval. From this starting point, Vitruvius and Feadship developed a 54.90-metre-long explorer yacht, which is capable of travelling around the world in a self-sufficient and fuel-efficient manner.
This hull was built at the same time as the hull of project 1010 during corona time in Papendrecht. Despite the challenges of preventing corona infections, this shell was delivered to De Vries Aalsmeer on time and very complete.
